Refugee Support Services of the Carolinas, Inc. operates three types of programs:
-1- Fruitful Friendships is a program designed to facilitate reciprocal friendships between refugees and Americans. The program continues to grow, but there are still many refugee families waiting for an American friend.
-2- The Self-Sufficiency program is designed to empower refugees and encourage self-sufficiency at whatever level they may be -- whether they have just arrived, are learning to function and survive in American society, or are beginning to truly thrive in their new community. We believe that every refugee should be given the tools to thrive in their new environment, and we work to identify the needs and empower refugees to reach that level of self-sufficiency.
-3- The American Education program works in schools, churches, and other groups to create awareness about refugees and the refugee community in Charlotte.
