Refugee Support Services provides Self-Sufficiency Classes in topics such as:
Nutrition, Going to the Doctor, Schools, Medicaid and FoodStamps, Pest Control, and Housing Rights and Responsibilites.
These talks are provided in various locations and there is a specialist who speaks on the session's topic. A translator is provided.
These sessions are targeted to specific areas of need within the refugee community and are designed to help refugees learn to navigate American systems. They are not language-learning classes, but rather informational sessions taught in the refugees' native language.
